when creating this charcoal animation, I wanted to see what my mind comes up with. Automatism. In my first shot, I wasn't proud what i was producing as it felt like the character was not moving at all and looked like he was walking on the stop. I wanted him to jump up and produce a finger roll. I restarted.

In the second shot, I at least had a clue what to do and what to change. I looked at not producing the court first because it just expanded the whole picture but with just having the character it felt like it was important to look at his actions. the actions turned blurry and so in my head "what's next? what's important?" which was the basketball. I erased everything and kept drawing a circle bigger and bigger and put fingers around it. I hated how this looked and I said " I cant restart again". I solved it by just making a face with the fingers on the ball which transitioned into the player with the ball beside him. I liked this relationship of shots where I do a close up and not a close up. I'm happy by this little animation and the way it turned out because it felt raw. It's raw because of the charcoal not being fully erased, the way the characters are being made and looking rushed. I would of hoped the lighting was better because I had dark shadows of myself in the right bottom corners.
