18/05/21 Finding audio

I was looking for something spacey in my animation. Some synths that would compliment my earthy sounds because for me synths are electronic and the polar opposite of real sounds. I searched it up on the websites and found interesting sounds.

This sound called "Rugrats synth sounds" was decent looking. I plugged it into my animation and see it fitted. I chopped some sounds but it just looked slightly off resulting me to look for something more fitting. I felt it was too cartoony despite my animation looking like cartoons.

There is something about this sound that feels nostalgic even though I wasn't brought upon looking at sci-fi stuff. I like the wobble of the sound and when fitting it my project it worked well. It was like the "goldilocks" of my sound. Not too grungy and not too cartoonish but in the middle.

In the falling scene I needed 3 sfx. One breaking bones and morphing into an insect. One insect noise and another of an egg cracking.

Finding these sound effects were quick because with freesound.org most people's work are realistic or well done to sound like the title.

Another sound effect I needed was a basketball swish sound. It's funny because for the basketball animations I mainly used my own audio of me and my cousin playing basketball but we just dont have a swish sound. The hoops in England never have nets.
