Franz Kafka and Metamorphosis

From this video, I learned a lot about Franz Kafka. I learned about how he used his terrible childhood to create these dark stories of self hatred and disgust. For him he felt he was a disappointment to his father as he stood so tall and manly but Franz felt the opposite. People relate to Kafka because of their poor relationship with their parents. His works are slightly surreal and unrealistic like a nightmare somehow that keeps getting worse and worse. However, it's weird because it feels always feels real and raw.
For instance, The Metamorphosis looks at a businessman called Mr Samsa that one day turns into a huge bug. The relationship between Mr Samsa as a bug and his family feel so natural and genuine.
In this sand animation, I like the way it narrates one of Kafkha's work. The sand being opaque sets this moody dark tone. The animation itself is really fluid and flowy because of the sand. I really like how they use the opaque sand to transition into something else. I like how it turns into a 3-D world even though the media is sand on a flat surface.
